Possible virus luring on flickr ???

Is that possible??

Was viewing some photos on flickr when my dear anti virus (kaspersky) played that weird and scary sound that never fail to scare the shit out of me. Well it was informing me that a certain photo that i wanted to view had a virus, thus blocking that sneaky bas***d from loading. I dunno how true or how serious this virus is but i think i should’t have happen in teh first place right moreover it’s flickr.com we are talking about…..

Ever tried comparing a similar picture side by side using Firefox and safari?

Well if you do, I believe you have already notice that safari produce a nicer picture; similar to what you would see when opened with Photoshop. This happen as most browsers (e.g. IE, Firefox2) ignores the color profile embedded onto the pictures.

What is color profile you may ask?
In short a color profile not only saves information about the colors but also the amount of light available, distance and other factors that may affect how an image is perceived. Thus with the color profile being ignored a picture will be reproduced with slight variation in colors when viewed with different browsers.

Well to solve this you can use safari as your primary browser as they do support color management, alternatively you can use Firefox 3 and enable color management. Enter “about:config” in the address bar and set gfx.color_management.enabled to true
Wala there you go.

Well just feel like sharing this post again..

was browsing through the photography section in Borders last week and guess what, flipped though a book featuring various toilet around the world. Guess what!! i came across this urinal from “Whiskey” a cafe at St-Laurent à Montréal (canada) and its not for guys it for the ladies!!!

Well I chanced upon this email while scanning my junk mail for non-junk email (hmm is this the correct term) and this is what I found. Twice in a month with different address and identify.

I’m sure upon reading this email any tom dick or harry will be skeptical about it and deem it as a scam, however there are bound to be innocent people around who can’t tell that it is a scam. Thus to all innocent people out there this is indeed a scam upon. This is what I found upon checking up hang seng bank website;
There have recently been fraudulent e-mails in circulation which claim to be issued by directors/senior executives/employees of Hang Seng Bank. Typically, recipients of these e-mails are invited to claim a large sum of money held in the name of an account-holder since deceased, by posing as his next-of-kin. The recipients are asked to provide the issuer with their personal details.
Please note that these e-mails were not issued by Hang Seng or its employees. Hang Seng has already reported the cases to the Hong Kong Police for investigation. If you receive e-mails of this kind you may wish to contact the Hong Kong Police.
